The school, which serves disabled children and works to help them function productively and as independently as possible, is a mainstay to those who would otherwise be left out of the educational loop.

The Knicks, who are celebrating the team’s 70th anniversary season took part in the build as part of their regular season community initiative — Basketball in the Boroughs sponsored by Chase.

Current players and alumni were on hand to help build the playground and cut the ribbon on Sunday.

Alumni included Marcus Camby, Bernard King, John Starks, Larry Johnson and Allan Houston.
